Casa Cork, a living laboratory that explored cork’s overlooked potential for material innovation, craft, and a circular economy, made its debut at Milan Design Week 2025. Created by David Rockwell and the nonprofit Cork Collective, the installation featured various activations to bring its ideas to life. This included the Casa Cork Salon Series, curated and led by Untapped, which explored topics specific and adjacent to cork so as to demonstrate its wide-ranging significance. Speakers included architects David Rockwell and Suchi Reddy, designers Tom Dixon and Yves Béhar, and curator and writer Deyan Sudjic, who spoke with Untapped’s editor-in-chief, Tiffany Jow. At 2023’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair, an exhibition called “The Crossroads” immersed visitors in two icons of Americana—the home and the great outdoors—filled with objects made by designers working around the country. Created by architect David Rockwell, Rockwell Group, and writer and curator Pei-Ru Keh, the show served as the fair’s centerpiece and offered a snapshot of American design today. Inside the presentation each day, the space was activated by Dialogues at The Crossroads, a lively informal discussion led by Untapped’s editor-in-chief, Tiffany Jow, about the primary contexts from which the works on view arise.
